I had the same reason, too many damnn pop ups. but i think the problem was that i got it from my limewire. which suckd because i had to restore my whole comp an wipe out all memorie. but yea i had that problem, an says "SEE OUR SPONSOR" haha , i got pissed. every 5 clicks.

I've never gotten damaging virus/spyware from limewire and i've download lots and lots of programs...I'm just smart about what I download and of course I never download .exe files.

I use OS X instead of a shitty Windows OS like I used to, so no viruses for me.:P As for pop-ups just download firefox and turn on the popup blocker.

yeah have that that shit that says see our sponser while we redirect you. but i found a solutin every time i reboot my computer i have to delete a program called wink that my solution until i find out how to fully remove it

Microsoft beta anti-spyware. Last time i checked it was free and it works pretty damn good.

I think you should buy an anti-virus if you don't wanna risk getting more viruses from downloading.
It sucks that you have to drop money on anti-virus software but at least you only have to pay once and then you don't have to worry about viruses again.
