Premium Goods loaded up for the Holiday season and they have tons of stuff right now. It even forced them to push some goodies to the sales table, that should not be on there. If you havent been there in a while you should make an effort. They are having a 15% off sale on 12/23 and you get $10 gift cards for every $100 you spend.

Tipping Point has a bit less sneakers but a different variety than most other stores. They also have some really great books in there if your into reading, looking at pictures, or just want that cool conversation piece for your coffee table.

What is the H-Town Sneaker Summit?
The H-Town Sneaker Summit is the longest running event of its kind in the great State of Texas. The H-Town Sneaker Summit is a Bi-Annual Event held in Houston, TX each Summer and Winter, where sneaker enthusiast from all walks of life gather to buy, sell, trade, display, and discuss rare and exclusive sneakers and clothing.

Do I need to buy a Pre-Sale Ticket to Get In The Summit?
Pre-Sale Tickets are a special bundled package made available by our main boutique sponsors; Premium Goods, and Kicks. A Pre-Sale Ticket features; One Admission, One Exclusive 15% Off Coupon for PG or Kickz, and One Raffle Ticket for the Summit. Everyone who purchased a pre-sale ticket will also have access to the express entrance line. If you are unable to get out to these retailers to buy a Pre-Sale Ticket before the Summit, Admission and Raffle Tickets will be still be sold separately at the event.

I only have a couple of shoes to sell, or trade, do I need a vendors table?
Each Attendee is allowed to bring in up to 4 pairs of shoes to sell, or trade. However you will be responsible for all of your items while inside the event so we encourage you to only bring what you can handle. All items are subject to search and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Fraud, Fake shoes, and foul business practice will not be tolerated.

Will there be any shoes or clothing for sale at the Summit?
This season we have more vendors than ever. There will be an abundance of rare and exclusive shoes, clothing, caps, etc. for sale in the event. Many of which you may not be able to find in stores. The Summit will also feature exclusive Summit merchandise and unreleased 2008 items.

What kind of Raffle Items or Free Giveaways will be at the Summit?
This season we have more Raffle Items and Free Giveaways than ever including; Shoes, Tees, Hoodies, Caps, Backpacks, Gift Cards, Magazines, CDs , Stickers, Key Chains, Posters, Pens, etc. Many of the Free Giveaways are worth the price of admission alone! And some of the Raffle Items are worth over 100 times a single raffle tickets value! Of course we are going to leave room for a few surprises. ;)

How do I get VIP service at the Summit?

Houston has the same New Years haps as everywhere else.
A bunch of overhyped parties with 'special invited guests' who dont show.
Personally Im looking toward the Summit more than anything.

I went to the Slick Rick show, and although I saw Chamillionaire, I dont think they performed hiphop police. I had a few beers, but I think I would remember this. Slick Ricks set was short, and mostly old school stuff to a live band except for his verse from Art of Storytelling w Outkast song maybe a couple of more. We were outta there by 1am. The worst part is for some reason they performed in the small room. Because of this the line was closed off early and I know some people were heated.

Of course Bun was there. If he's in town he would most likely be at any hiphop show. He is a bigger fan of the music than most people think.

hell yeah they were open..closed at 5:00 so I missed it like hell..I went to Tipping Point downtown doe..it was hella HELLA small..but they had a couple of sneakers..had a couple of nice pumps and some blazers..I was gone cop su'thin but I just wanted to get some tees and they were limited on em.. actually I didn't even know they had tee's cuz they put em up on the walls like there art..it looks like a small musem which is coo..they had some tight books more then anything..the owner and his workers were cool as hell tho.. next time i'm in tha H imma hit em back up..I always like to support ppl who in it for the love and not just for a fad n shit like that..

oh shnap off the top of my head i just remembered a spot called sucker punch i live a few minutes away from it. it's on westheimer / dunlavy, that is, if no one's already posted it. the store's small, small selection, but it's relatively new so it might grow. all the stuff they sell you can usually find on karmaloop like beautiful decay and brands of that nature.

I have no idea.
I know that we are going to be at gallery and places around that area and trying to find a bar or a club on friday night. I like houston better than san antonio because of the fact that there are more diversity in houston then san antonio.
Need something to do while we are in houston. Gallery is ok, but nothing we don't have back in DC shopping wise atleast.

The Houston Public Skatepark officially opens in June,
probably because they want to keep the kids in school.
Anyway Ive been by there a couple of times and its coming along nicely.

My prediction is AFront and the New Park will revolutionize the H-Town Skate Scene.

The park is supposed to be one of the best in the nation.

It is right across the street from the Fonde Rec Center where Nike holds their Annual Offseason 'Pro-City' Pro/Am Basketball Tournament.

ended up going to GLO on thursday night which was awkward considering i am asian and everyone in there was black. not that it matters or anything but they weren't doing anything but hogging the bars so it took a long time to get drinks and everybody was just showing off their jewels and not much doing anything.

traffic was bad and not much going on downtown on thursday.

friday, we went to XO, but did not get in because they said no sneakers, so ended up going to NEXT and the place was real nice. cheap drinks, cheap cover, fine looking girls.

I stopped by Afront yesterday.
Dudes were working full force.
I saw the 1st photo exhibit from local photographer Travis Howell going up on the wall, containing skate photos taken from his travels all over the world.
They mentioned their would also be an art showing by 'Give Up' on the other wall.
They didnt have much product in yet other than the Adidas Skateboarding stuff and the new Afront decks, but they assured me by Friday there would be much more.
Anyways, I managed to snap a pic of the deck.
Make sure you guys come up and introduce yourselves if you see me at the Sneak Peek Grand Opening tomorrow.

Fila hooked up with Premium Goods to produce a version of the Fila Tennis Classic that has much more to it than just a simple three colored sneaker. Nicekicks caught up with Clarence of Premium Goods Brooklyn to ask what was his inspiration for the shoes.

The Fila Tennis Classic was one of the first shoes at the $200 in the 1980’s. The other shoe was Gucci, the style that inspired Jay Z for his first S.Carter. For the colors I wanted to pay homage to both high priced shoes including Gucci, the Italian colors, and black pride.

The upper has a sort of ballistic style mesh which is to represent a bullet proof vest. Back in the day the drug dealers in Brooklyn went nuts for these kicks and the Guccis at $200.

Something you can’t see from this shot is that they come with three laces (black, green, and red) and all have gold tips as well as an all over repeating print of Brooklyn and Houston on each of the insoles.

mane H-town got hella thowed clubs..but I mean I guess it depends on what kinda vibe you like..if you like a club that has brauds dressin like whores.. and a few fights breakin out H-town got beacoup clubs for that..if u lookin for that "grown n sexy" vibe but u payin 20 n up to get in they still got a good amount of those..Houston does got one of tha best club scenes but then again that's if u a African american that go to clubs that probably will play all tha bullshit u hear on tha radio..but check out

Good concert overall. ofcourse it was hot nigguhs came out with their hype shit, mad funny... the females.... shit they came out of no where dimes left n right. but they all holding hands with kanye shades wearing nigguhs. lawn seats were FUCKING crazy i wish i didnt buy reserved seats so i could smoke like everyone was in the lawn.

only gripe was the strict ticket checkers that was bullshit. Lupe came out like 15 min early that sucked cause i was trying to drink and half the ppl were still trying to get in the gates. Anyways, great show, just a bit bummed I missed Lupe.

Max's Wine Dive on Washington has some awesome food and a great wine list if you're into that, excellent service too. Great deals during happy hour. One of my favorite places to eat.
If you like French food I suggest Cafe Rabalais in Rice Village. It's just a few doors down from Premium Goods. Nice intimate but casual atmosphere, and also an extensive wine list. The menu changes daily but the food is always bang'n. Get there early though cause they don't take reservations and they get pretty slammed after 7 pm.
If you just want a good ol' slab of meat but don't wanna settle for the mundane Saltgrass or Outback there's always Vic and Anthony's on Texas or Flemings on W. Alabama.
