Yeah, Laced. I've been getting raped on sneaks since 97, 98 over at Concepts. You guys buy those damn kicks at wholesale price (thats 1/2 of box price for those that do not know) and sell them for far more than the SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE. GREED! This is in no way disrespect to these shops but living in Boston all my life and seeing the hood cats hustle to buy overpriced dope kicks....SUCK! Finally..... BODEGA arrived in the Bean and broke the curse. I like to think them as the Red Sox of the sneaker market. With all the "streetwear" stores opening in Boston is will be funny to see who will make it past December! Customer care is key in this game! One thing that I've heard why people hate on Laced most of all was definitely during their Laced Sale. I talked to one of the dudes further up and they were definitely in a comfortable spot to get De La's in their size. When he got out they were all upset that he didn't get the De Las Hi's in his size and ended up waiting there for more than 9 and a half hours to get crap he didn't even want.

A friend of mine who waited in line was pretty far back, almost where Dunkin Donuts begins and was looking to get some De La's but wasn't too worried if he got em or not and when got in the store, he was able to get a pair!

The funny thing was when I asked what size they got, they were the same size.

In my opinion, Sb's that were sold at retail price is great and I would be thankful that the store would even have a sale like that. But If dudes that were there waiting for quite some time wait in line and don't end up getting what they waited in line for and someone way down the line gets it in the same size, is a little messed up. Most businesses go by the motto "First come, first served". But in this particular story, I guess it didn't pan out that way for that one dude. Could've been other dudes.

Reup is beautiful looking. LAB is the best stocked store in allston, as they said "fuck a buildout" and just did their thing with minimal fixtures, going for style over substance. I'm not sure if the dudes at awol are looking to sell the display shoes, but you might as well ask. Bodega does NOT get SB's.

J-rods are a bill at laced I believe.

Bodega has/had the Kool Moe Dee shirt (the Kool cigarettes ripoff one, right?) but that was a few weeks ago, I donno if they still have it. Shirt woulda been crack if they used G Rap instead of KMD on it, but I digress.

There's only like 3 people at laced, so saying there are "some chill people and some not so chill people" is equivocating. Either you think only one dudes a dick and your making a bigger deal than need be, or else they're all dicks but one of them and are trying to not piss them off. I dont think lab or concepts got the Bruins colorway, but laced did. As for the green and purple, nobody round here got that or the purple and black. As far as I know, there was 8 colorways in this release, and laced got 5 (Black/yellow, black/white, grey/purple, white/black, burgundy/white (this one is 8) ). I think concepts had 4 (including the grey/black which laced didnt get) and Lab had 3 when I was there (Grey/black and 2 others I cant remember which, maybe white/black and black/white).

We did get the bruins colorways and still have a couple left in stock. Black and yellow and also a white and black.

On the red line, go to downtown crossing, then cross over to the orange line and get off at mass ave. Walk down the hill and you will find Laced. A few blocks from the oppisite way is Bodegas. When you get back to Mass Ave. Take the Number 1 Bus and get off at Harvard square, Concepts/Tannerys is around the corner, and on that same block is a resturant called "Fire and Ice". After that hop back on the redline @ Harvard Sq then u back at south station. Thats the perfect route to take with your limited time.

But i dont suggest wasting your time in boston lookin at the same old sneakers u see everywhere else.

Theres whale watching, historic thingys i dunno, tourist types.

ALLSTON BY BUS: You can take the number 66 bus from Harvard Sq to the corner of Harvard Ave and Brighton Ave which will land you smack dab in the middle of Allston.

it's mad easy to get from newbury to allston via the T (boston's public transport trolley/subway system). REup, AWOL, and Lab are all near each other. Reup is right near the packard's corner stop (check out super 88 market next door for a good asian food court w/ all types of food spots) and AWOL is the harvard ave stop (one more stop down). Lab is kinda in between em, but not next to any T stops. You can easily walk b/w all of the allston's places though.

For shoes bodega has a good selection of Creative Reocs, Vans, Adidas, Puma, Reebok, and Nike stuff you find in the mall (forces, air maxes, dunks, vandals, etc) plus the occasional QS or Tier 0 drop. For clothes they carry shit like Mishka (& goblin), RockersNYC, C&C, 10 Deep, Pegleg, Orisue, Kid Robot, False, FATE, Invisibl Man, Nossa, hundreds, diamond, L&D, rocksmith, acapulco gold, alife

Laced has NikeSBs, DCs, Reebok, DGK, some Timbs, some Lakai skate shoes, a decent selection of Adidas. Manhatten and Expressions are both right next to the Boston Commons in downtown crossing. They both have a decent collection of shoes, nothing amazing for me, but if you like AF1's, Expressions has a great collection of them and Jordans, neither have SB accounts, but I've picked up some good deals at Manhatten also.
