yo, no way dude camping this AM would have left sometime this week between when he got there this AM and on Saturday.no way..not at all..not a chance..not even close.. I'd put money on the fact that he'd have chilled the WHOLE time.

last year, I was working at concepts right around this time of year, (may/june) and the first lobsters were dropping then. there was cats lining up the Wednesday before the shoes dropped; so, today's instance isn't all that far fetched. PLUS, as of 6/7 PM tonight, there's about 10 or 12 people straight posted up outside concepts right now..haha..

I mean, don't get me wrong, I used to have to wait for shoes. I hit the old tannery/concepts at like 4/5AM to scoop the first J-Rod's and the Tiffany dunks. got hit over the head for the cost of the kicks (that had to be paid in cash) but loved every second of it. I remember being so stoked on the Tiff's.. hah, SMH at me.. at that stage of your sneaker liking, shit like that is fun. I grew up wearing a lot of heat (thanks Pops,) but at one point, not too too long ago, everything changed and now, it's close to impossible to get any of the good stuff that they drop for box price.. I had to wait up for the DMP's too.. me and my man hit Champs on Wash St --downtown crossing the night before.. got there about midnight, twisted a few Ls, scooped the kicks at like 8/9AM when they opened, had to straight beef with about 25/30 cats in the immediate area to grab the index card (each card had a shoe size on it, so whoever got a card with a certain size on it, got that size,) almost got jacked walking back to the train with the HUGE gold boxes, hit the crib and slept for a week, haha..but me and my dude held it down. we hopped the turnstyles at Park Street station and the cops immediately stopped us...the dudes chasing us did the same exact thing trying to catch us, so it was not hard for the cops to see what was happening.. they let me and my man go and wrote the pack of goons tickets...LOL

either way, my point is.. cats straight LOVE waiting in line. for some dudes, it's obviously worth it for them to chill outside a store for 24, 48, 72, 96, shit... I guess in this case, close to 110 hours to then pay 2 and a half bills on a pair of sneaks. at least, they've justified doing that in their head somehow, and if that's the conclusion they have come to, word up, let em rock with it, whatever. and for some cats, they have made the conscious decision that it is NOT worth their time to camp and chill outside a store to have to legit be posted in the same spot the whole time to hold the spot down for a night, two nights, three nights, damn...four nights. dudes straight camped out for some SB's for a straight crazy long weekend's worth of time, right?. a normal long weekend would be either Monday OR Friday off in addition to sat. and sun. obviously. these cats waiting from Tuesday morning to Saturday afternoon, pretty much 5 days and 4 nights (like a hot damn cruise ship advertisement..) shit is crazy, yo..but for real, good job to the fam over at concepts... THIS IS WHAT THE FUCK IS UP RIGHT HERE... straight holding it down... be on the lookout for some possible new NB collabs also. I asked the same question maybe a month ago when I went into the new place for the first time.

The dude said, they were waiting for other shops to open up around them, but nothing was opening and it was just constant construction around them and empty spaces. And obviously they want other stores around them to attract potential customers.

Said the lease was up so they decided to move to an area that better suited them.

I mean where they are now makes sense for the fact that, newbury comics is there, American Apparel, urban outfitters etc. So its more of their demographic so to speak. Although the new place is much smaller or atleast seems it.

But one good thing about smaller stores is they have a smaller stock room, pick up some Tre's for $60 that are still going for $100 everywhere, perfect skate shoes.

Please explain how we would know that? If you are looking to buy, most likely be willing to spend a few bills, atleast $400, the ones on ebay, that may or may not be scams are going for atleast $450.

Last year, there were rumors of dudes buying the shoes and then immediately selling for $800 or more. Not sure if there was any truth to that or just smart sellers trying to cause a buzz.

See I like that idea, allowing the natives to be able to walk on over on a Saturday, maybe wait 30 mins and purchase a pair. Because I'm pretty sure if someone in Boston buys these and wears them they can then tell others where they bought it. Someone in NYC buys these and wears them, not to many people they know will visit Concepts.

Or maybe they could have a special batch for natives. A week before the official release, randomly post on here the day before or put a flyer up in the shop. That way its Boston people getting the shoe and hopefully wearing them.

I agree with something being set up so that true natives get the sneakers before these other fucking leeches do. these are simple and hot, I like them alot more then last years. anyone know why they chose the jedi laces for these? I feel like the concepts shirt (with the neon green splatter) makes it seem like the blue lobster's guts are neon green haha.

This year's campout was so different compared to last year's. there was almost a whole new crowd of people, way more complaints, mad kids cutting and mad animosity. it almost feels like this year was the first one and last year should have been this years (more organization, peace, tolerance last year than this year.) I hope third time is a charm and we'll all hopefully get shit right. trying to take the camping aspect out of sneaker releases is like trying to get nice weather in boston all year-NOT HAPPENING- it's part of the culture that you cant eradicate. to be completley honest I like camping out for sneakers, especially when concepts(and pilot) make it worth the campout with all the stuff they include in a release, it justifies time spent and adds personal value/memories to the sneaker itself.

Last year i believe a good chunk of the restock went to the employees (who did not get pairs out of the original allotment) and VIPs. This year there was a larger initial allotment and I believe people were taken care of whereas last year there was a 200 deep line for 200 pair the night before. Some of the restocks from last year might still be in the basement, and im pretty sure this is where the raffled off one came from. Chedda_BLC would know the deal better than myself, as he's an actual employee and I'm just an extended family member spreading hearsay.

As for regular ones, they should go for no more than 150-200 once the QS drops EVERYWHERE and not just a few shops. I mean, look at prices for non-cncpts red lobsters for a clue.

I'm not surprised at all, I've noticed Eastern Boarder's Nike SB section dwindle to literally a small little section of maybe 6 shoes at most. I believe it is many factors that have contributed to this, for instance they rip people off.

When the dr. strangeloves were released they were selling them for $150, a crazy price for a shoe that had no major hype. I will hand it to them when it comes to other shoes like Prods etc, they dont overcharge like some places, for instance KarmaLoop had Prods for $100..are they kidding me? Also Laced back when i actually went there, always charged more than box price even for the shittiest SB's.

I really like Eastern Boarder too, it was the first skate shop that I went to when arriving in the area and was always great for new decks and such, but now it seems they are riding the whole Krew/Terry Kennedy shit way to hard, also the fact that they finally just got The Hundreds in the last year, too little too late.

Also, it really sucks about the whole SB thing, considering the fact that they are a legit skate shop, and i know some sneakerheads may disagree but SB's are just that skateboarding shoes (or atleast are suppose to be) and therefore it really sucks that a legit skate shop is the only one not getting decent SB's or even special releases.

Either way, EB will always have me purchasing a pair of SB's atleast bi-monthly, i'm a fein for Prod's and Tres.

This is going to be a very interesting season. Shaq and Lebron, the Lakers with Artest, the Magic with Carter, the Pistons with Gordon and Villanueva, and the Celtics with Sheed. I'm amped for next season, any one of these teams can win the whole thing.

The only one I don't agree with is Magic with Carter, he's pretty much done and they lost Turk so it's gonna be tough for them, especially since they live by the 3.

Also I think the whole Celtics aquiring Sheed thing isn't that big of a deal, he's getting old in age and although he has a 3 I don't see him being that huge X factor.

Uh, is that the whole "I'm a Boston fan so hate teams that are actually good." type of shit? Honestly Artest is an amazing defender and a great addition now that Ariza is gone.

^^^^ Rasheed is not a huge deal? Man I dont think you are really thinking about how we is going to improve this team. First of all he gives you length off the bench which is something we were missing during the playoff run. Second he gives you points off the bench which is something we got out of Big Baby, but lets be hones Baby is no Sheed (even considering he is getting older). Three he signed for what I believe is the veteren minimum allowing the Celtics to go out and be able to make other moves, where as resigning Poe or Baby would have cost them more money. I know Baby leaving town is not 100% official yet and I hope its not because I think Sheed and Baby leading the second team would be a tremendous upgrade from what it was in the playoffs last season. It comes down to this.... First man off the bench at the end of last season was Scal, this season it's Sheed. Obvious upgrade

Ok it's one thing to say its an upgrade, I never denied that. But I really love how Sheed suddenly means the championship is a given. Also, are people forgetting Sheed is a big trouble maker/dick? Is Boston just picking up all the assholes thinking they will change their tune and help out...like Moss did with the Pats? Example: Marbury...talk about a bust.

Point is Sheed is an upgrade, but not the dude that will make Boston unstoppable. Fact is the Celtics had trouble again in the playoffs and i dont give a fuck that KG was out, now hes coming back from an injury so dont even try and base this upcoming season off of 2 seasons ago. But fact is they had trouble again with teams that arent West coast caliber especially the lakers.

Mortal lock, Lakers vs. Cavs. Fuck it, i'm just gonna go with my gut.
