About halfway through last season I thought that Brady would be a lock for the Madden 09 cover.... Touchdown record, undefeated reg season etc. I thought for sure he was doomed this season. Then when I heard Favre got the cover I thought we were in the clear. Guess I was wrong. I still feel that things are going to end badly for Favre. The Madden Jinx is one force that is unexplained, and all powerful. There are 4 things that I do not trust in this world.... The little figure Greg Brady found in Hawaii while surfing, Ouija Boards, a big butt & a smile, and players who grace the cover of Madden.

seriously this myth needs to die. It has already been proven more players have not been hurt than have or something to that extent. Basically proving its not as real as its said to be.

Also keep in mind, this is football, shorter game schedule, athletes are always getting hurt, minor to major doesnt matter. Football players take a beating.

I am glad Brady wasnt on the cover for once, because if this played out the same way, people would say MADDEN CURSE. I know many joke around but many really buy into this shit. Its like the Red Sox curse, some knew it was just some bullshit, and the red sox couldnt man up in 80 years...while others actually believed their team wasnt at fault but a dumb curse was.

its not that simple, a quarterback cant just come in and know the whole system within a matter of weeks, if culpepper came in he wouldnt be able to play a good game for a whole nother month. Look at the Jets they have brett favre but all their scores come on improv plays, nothing really planned just brett throwing the ball up when he feels its rite to, they dont have a true offense yet, and if the pats brought in someone completely new they wouldnt either.

There is no way in hell that the pats will sign a qb. They have 1 more game before their bye, and because cassel will have won at least 2 most likely 3 (theyre playing miami) games before the bye they wont sign anyone during the bye. Other than that there is no logical time when any qb, assuming they could find one interested in a one year low money offer, could step in and learn a system in sufficient time to make them a better team.

Did'nt they give this reunion a shot in Oakland? Culpepper is a wrap. Like someone said it is more about knowing the system than it is skill at this point. Bellicheck has seen something in Cassel that made him keep him for the past 3 seasons. He knows the system. Granted he wont be as fun to watch as Brady is now, but remember the first two Super Bowls? Watching Brady was like watching paint dry. They kept Brady (as they will Cassel) in situations that highlight his strengths, and minumize his weekness/potential mistakes/turnovers. Last nights Cowboys vs Eagles game proved the Patriots are fucked unless we can put up some points.

Sure i would hope we would have better defense than both teams. But honestly unless it is amazing defense, there are quite a few qbs that we have to go against that can easily score 21 points.

Honestly i am still in the middle with Cassel, i think it would be good to get someone else, not to necessarily take Cassel's spot but atleast to be there.

I'll admit i wasnt a fan too long before the brady era. Not because of Brady, but because i am fairly young and as a kid was a geek playing Starcraft instead of watchng Football.

Now sure we are jaded, we are use to amazing games and if Brady was in that game it is no doubt the Jets would have gotten raped, since Favre had an off day.

But one thing i dont like is how people, not saying anyone on these forums more so people ive talked to, will say how Brady did the same thing Cassel is doing...playing it safe and doing ok etc etc. and then we won.

But as ive stated these first two and then the next game are worthless in a sense, due to the teams that they are against. Granted Brady wasnt amazing his first starting year, but i think he still had that extra piece or thing about him. Which allowed him to have poise in the fourth quarter and in the super bowl in his first year.

I hate sounding like a hater and talking shit about Cassel, we've all been in situations similar to this, in which people doubted you just cus of certain reasons. But i think its needed to make him a better player. Look at Brady, up until last year many still doubted him. Now its gonna go back to that again once he comes back from his injury...i know analyst will say he is gonna suck.

This is exactly what I meant when I said keep us on the edge of our seats. What were the two most exciting games last year?

Philly and Baltimore. Why? Because we actually had to WIN. It wasn't just handed to us.

I'd rather watch a competetive match than watch a blow out every week. What's the point of watching the second half when your team is up by 20+ points?

Ive always been more into shoes than clothes. What are the best stores to go to not named bodega, concepts, laced for shirts?

I feel like lab and reup both go really hard on the gear tip, which makes sense as they don't have shoe accounts. Honestly it depends on the brands/image you're into. If you're into the style of shit they have at concepts/bodega/laced (or atleast had several months ago, bodega is going more high end/mature to an extent and I aint been to laced in a minute (I miss u guys! I suck for not repping more)), reup is probably the best bet. LAB has mishka and some crooks shit that doesnt end up in other spots, and some other brands that are more artsy (not a diss) and less street IMO. Lab is also def the spot for the ladies. AWOL has really deep selection on a couple of labels (in4mation, 10 deep, orisue, rocksmith) but they can be really hit or miss. Sometimes they'll have like 15 pieces from a brand but no dope ones.

The only thing I dont really recommend is newbury street. What a waste of time IMO.

Karmaloop has Crooks, In4Mation, SLB, Hellz Bellz, Married to the Mob, Fiberops, Orisue, WeSC, Mighty Healthy, and MHI to name just a few. Fat Tony's has the fitteds on lock. Niketown...Then not to mention Copley & Newbury has all the nice higher end brands, Gucci, LV, etc. And Bodega is always a super short walk from there. Plus there's mad spots to eat, easy T access...In short - I'd say it's worth checking out.

I disagree...The Newbury area has a lot to offer...Riccardi's has Neighborhood, WTaps, and PRPS. Relic has BBC, Bape, Original Fake and Ice Cream. Johnny Cupcakes has Johnny Jupcakes. Karmaloop has Crooks, In4Mation, SLB, Hellz Bellz, Married to the Mob, Fiberops, Orisue, WeSC, Mighty Healthy, and MHI to name just a few. Fat Tony's has the fitteds on lock. Niketown...Then not to mention Copley & Newbury has all the nice higher end brands, Gucci, LV, etc. And Bodega is always a super short walk from there. Plus there's mad spots to eat, easy T access...In short - I'd say it's worth checking out.
