I think the re-release that everyone is talking about is these other skate shops that are getting them now. Concepts did the first release, and there was a re-release of them a few weeks later to other shops. As far as I know thats it though. I have not heard anything about a mass re-release of these shoes. You never know though might be true, but I have not heard it.

I mean, they get a fair amount of drops that we don't see over here, but in terms of shopping (not waiting in line for days) they pretty much have all the same shit. The views expressed by the members of this board could easily make or break a business, or brand. I think it has been a long time coming for Boston... It is starting to get some of the NY, LA, MIA, hype as far as the shopping and stores go. I think someone just bashed someone for asking about Boston shops a few posts up, and said that it is on like every other page. THAT IS A GREAT THING!!!!! As redundant as it may seem it is a great thing for the Bean. That means people are coming here looking for the shops that are unique to this area. Finally getting some credibility as a city/state. The more people the better.

It takes a longer time to build a buzz about your store, city, or state than it does to kill one. Our attitudes towards people from out of town asking where to shop could hault any of the collective progress that has been made by the Concepts, Bodega's, Karmaloops, and Laced's.... I cant tell you the number of people that come in on a weekend and say they are from another part of the country, and ask what other places to hit up... Usually they say "Bodega is our next stop, or we just hit up Karmaloop, or where is Laced.".... Obviously I am Concepts to the core, but I think it is a great thing to see peolpe repping all the spots out here and it is good for all of stores out here.

So if you are from out of town and are in fear of being bashed feel free to send me a private message or refer to one of the previous posts about spots to hit. The way we (as a city, as well as stores) treat these people is whats gonna keep them coming back and make the buzz about Boston positive. Bias? How so? I make it clear who I rep. I even said I am Concepts to the core. I still think these other stores out here deserve their shine though. People dont come here for one store and just turn around and go back... If someone comes to check Bodega chances are they will make a trip to Concepts or another spot or vice versa.... Thats a good thing for all parties involved and I encourage it when people come in.

I guess your response being bad or not is a point of view thing. From my point of view its a bad look. From your as a consumer I can see your point to an extent. The truth of the matter is the bigger the market gets and the more people that come here from other places there is a greater likelyhood of there being more Boston based limitted releases.... As a customer its a double edged sword because you want to see it but you dont want out of towners to beat you to getting them.... Thats fair enough to understand. As far as being on a New York level I am not sure what that is... I said hype, and I will tell you why. I am hundreds or so of pairs deep in a collection and I can honestly say everything with the exception of a pair of Jordan IV's came from Mass, and most of it from Concepts. So there is a hype about NY but for the most part it is not all that much different.

I am not talking about getting people to stay... Just come back thats all. Speaking from a business point of view. I know this is a huge college town and people come and go, but while they are here we def want the business... As well as when they go home we want them to talk about Boston and have it be as positive as possible.

You dont have to kiss up to anyone. Do you think we wanted the first 13 people to get the Lobsters to be from Brooklynn? We did not want the 3 day back and forth about the Giants and Pats. Of course we would have loved to have a Cambridge kid be the first to walk out with Lobsters..... It was what it was though. We showed them the same love as if it was an everyday customer. You gotta respect the desire some of these kids had. You can argue all day long if it was worth three days, and or if you would have done it, but the fact is they did as well as about 200 other people. Fuckinnggg crazy ass night last night. Was getting ready to head out at 7 last nite then got a call from my buddy and ended up driving to foxwoods. Got there at like midnight, only brought 100 dollars and won 5000 playing fucking keno of all things. Place is insane, they have like 15 clubs and 6 casinos in that place all free.
