i'm lookin to get a suit. nyc area. i heard of brooks bros. and hickey freeman, but i dont wanna spend $1500. and places like portabella carry cheap ass $100 suits. i'm lookin to drop 4 bills for a legit wool suit, preferably black with bold white pinstripes, al capone-ish, not mafioso-looking but wall st.-looking. any suggestions?

muchos gracias.

you can get brooks brothers suits for $500 or so... and they measure you up and alter it on the house. not a bad bang for the buck - i still wear mine and they are great.

Haha, if you read what he was asking then you wouldn't have even answered.

1. He's not spending $1500
2. He doesn't want 10 suits, he just wants 1
3. He doesn't want to get cheap suits at places like S&K.
4. He wants quality a wool suit at $400

well if you live in NYC..check century21 they got hugo boss, calvin klein & etc for like $500-$1000.

I personally rock ZARA suits, they look very stylish and it fit me very well.
Plus the price don't really break my bank

Well I don't know about suits or anything really but I always see commercials for them at this store http://www.kgmens.com/ Its a nice little store that sells suits, alters suits, AND sells some nice urban clothing on the side. Also has some nice shoes too.

He wasn't saying the guy had to spend $1600, he was using what he bought as an example of the deals that he could get, jackass.

i found the best times to buy are in january and july. most retailers off their fall and spring inventory, respectively, for up to 70% off to clear for the new season. with that said, check:

- century 21 (posted previously)
- macy's
- nordstrom/nordstrom rack (not sure if they're on the eastcoast)
- barney's

stick with charcoal and navy; it's more versatile to mix and match slacks with suit jacket. last tip, you're better off investing in a really nice suit that will fit better and last longer...nothing worse than a seeing a guy in a bad, unfit suit.
