Knee-socks and stockings

I'm looking for some fun and crazy knee-sock or stockings, preferably something that would look good with a short denim skirt. I'm not picky about designs, I'd rather see some suggestions from other people. What do you think looks good, and where can you get them?

Don't know if this is a option for anyone from the US, but asos.com (UK) have alot of cute hosiery and socks. :)
