Avoiding raw denim colors rubbing onto your shoes?

Any ideas how to prevent this from happening - or how to get it off when the damage is already done?

someone told me about taping around the opening and i tried and it sort of worked, but honestly if you want to wear raw denim, wear black shoes or get over it.

Thanks for the advice - any ideas on how to clean the shoes when the damage is done. I have a pair of purple Undftd AF1's where the suede is damaged with raw denim color...
