to my surprise (and shock) I received a bill from UPS today on a order I had made from Caliroots way back in early Oct, my order was $230 and I received a customs charge of $35 + $5 broker fee. WTF! i was pissed as hell. they didn't provide a deadline of when payment was due, etc. i never got notification or any advance warning that i'd be getting a bill. if i knew, i would have thought twice before making my order.

anyone have experience with paying customs/duties/tariffs? what bullshit. will definitely make me think twice before i make large overseas orders. shipping alone was $30 and now i'm having to pay an additional fucking $40.

Get over it.

That charge is nothing to what I had in the past, £70 for a Kaws figure....jeeez my jaw nearly dropped that day. I was in a complete haze for the rest of the week because of that crazy charge.

lol thats the risky part of ordering from online stores.. they note the actuall amount of the goods

i just ordered from an online store, lionsden and anything, for the first time, the goods should be delivered this week..

yeah , its a problem for us in alot of countries

main problem is UPS also , they tack on a useless brokerage fee to alot of things

That's what it's like for me everytime I order from the U.S., but hey, if I get sick I don't need insurance :)

I'll rather pay some more for mye clothes for that reason alone.

What about getting charged significantly more for postage fees than the real cost. I buy a hat off ebay and the charge for shipping is listed as $26US for overseas shipping, so as I won the auction your sort of agreed to pay it. But then when it arrives you see the sticker shows it only cost $7 CAD, that shit makes me feel like I'm entitled to a refund.

yeah it's fucked up ... when I order from overseas I usually ask the online store to state a real low value that avoids me to pay those extra taxes. I live in Switzerland and everything that has a value over 100 USD gets some extra custom taxes. You should try to find out what that amount is in your homecountry....
