6 months of muay thai at master toddys back in the hometown (vegas)
just started out here in sd a 3 weeks ago at city boxing in PB.
highly recommended to anyone looking to get whipped into shape....plus whats more more gangsta than bustin' a clean round house to a kids head in a scrap.

^yeah i feel you on that. over the summer though i got a punk in a good strong clinch in s brawl outside a house party. dude had no idea how to defend agaisnt it...lets just say the dude didnt need any teeth impressions made at the dentist the next day because his grill was perfectly molded into my right knee.
elbows and knees are some of your deadliest weapons if used right.

i've been wanting to take it for a while now but never got around to.
i am pretty skinny at 5'8, 125 lbs so i am an easy target.
hoping to get bigger, but i am more in for the self discipline and self defense.

youre right ive never trained in muay thai but ive tried to emulate the style in any fight ive been in in high school i got into a fight and we all know the circle that gets made so i had my back to one guy and the guy i was gonna fight came up close to my face as most ghetto fucks do i have insanely long skinny arms so a punch wouldnt quite work as it wouldnt have any room to extend and no power would have been behind it so what do i do throw a short sharp elbow

i wouldnt worry too much about size. it helps a little but not so important.
last time i was in thailand i caught a few local muay thai fights (crazy stuff) and those guys were by no means big yet were bringing some absolute ruckus.

I have been wanting to train in BJJ for awhile now at my cousins gym (he fights professionally for the IFL) but I ended up with some medical problems and couldn't do it.
I have done some boxing and wrestling in the past but didn't really care for either of them. BJJ and/or muay thai are my next endeavors for sure.

I suggest anyone interested in muay thai to try Lerdrit, provided they can find a teacher. It's a from of muay thai used by the Royal Thai Army, and it focuses on using an open palm as opposed to a fist, which is better for many reasons. I also just love the look on people's faces when they see one of their buddies get his face busted up by some dude hitting him with his palms.

you know muay thai came from a cambodian fighting style, which i hear is better. Even tony jaa is cambodian. People say that muay thai is gay compared to the cambodian fighting style. lol damn i forgot the name though.

Trust me you have time. If you only take Muay Thai for like half a year or a year, you'll still be fucking people up crazy fast.

Wow, very impressed. The style for that cambodian martial art is called bokator. Only ancient masters would use it to kill. But during the Khmer Rouge regime, the Khmer Rouge wipe out all the masters and the Thai folks took over the art.

It hits just as hard but with less risk of damaging your hands. The Royal Thai Army uses it because if you punch someone in the head and brake your fist, it would be difficult to pull your sidearm out after that which would hinder your ability to fight
Here's a good article about it:

Not many people know about it, a couple of my masters know about it. Tony Jaa have shed some light on the cambodian art and also i read from some martial arts magazine that a master from cambodia came to teach it in LA for awhile.

From what i was taught, when you fist your hand the force stops once the punch is completed. Whereas when you execute a punch with the palm of your hand the force penetrates through the objective.
