Can't Nigo and his lawyers do anything to curb the sales of all these bootlegs? It's getting ridiculous, it's all over NYC, on websites, not to mention 95% of eBay Bape is fake.

You don't think it hurts his business? There's only one store in the U.S., I bet 95% of the people wearing Bape are rocking Fapes. Look on eBay and see how many fakes are sold every hour! I'm pretty sure there's a lot of bootlegging companies in China making a killing of fapes.
Also, I thought one of the reasons Nigo made Bathing Ape clothing so exclusive and expensive is because he didn't want everyone wearing his clothes. Maybe he doesn't care anymore cuz he's so rich. I just feel his ideas and goals are being stomped on by thieves.
Fape is taking over the streets and do I even have to mention Myspace (Well I just did). Not so cool. Whatever happened to being exclusive?

He probably could but like bighed said so could LV and gucci but they so rich they dont care...........also i think Nigo has enough people hooked on legit bape the fape market doesnt really matter to him.........people who buy fape buy it cuz they cant afford bape so even if fape wasnt around they wouldnt be buying bape so he not really losing money he just more or less losing the name.

how would you go about stopping all the fape out there?
shut down the factories its made in? I don' t think they are in the phone book.
its a supply and demand issue, very little supply + very high demand= very big pay off for the fakers.
Some people don't care if its really or not, they just want to the look, I mean, look at the all fake LV bags out there.
But yeah, its like stopping the drug trade, the fake makers aren't exactly going to make themselves available to be busted, the pay off is probably too good to quit, and people out there are still willing to pay for it.

all nigo needs to do is increase the supply of his products to decrease the amount of bootlegs. at the same time, he makes more $.
think about it, if all the items are easy to get at the same retail price as of now, there wouldn't be any resellers. the amount of fakes would be lowered (will still persist due to the high cost of bape). this would help against the fakes a bit, by making his products less exclusive.

nigo and his lawyers can curb the sales, but for every 15 fapers they snatch.. 102356576210 others will replace them.
it's just a survival of the fittest

there are companines like LV and other high knocked off brands that try to stop the counterfeit clothing by random buying items such as jeans off of ebay and if the jeans/items are fake report them to ebay and ebay sends the person warnings or account terminations. but that doesn't stop the sellers, they can just pop up with another account.
there are authorites which handle these companies that make knock offs. there are actual companies in hong kong that is a legit company by day and after hours they make knock offs. these authorites crack down companies like this if they can but these companies are very smart changing locations and such. there are bigger companies that make more serious knock off stuff such as fake viagra that are likely to cause more harm than good and possibly death, fake cigars, and other such things more important to people's well beings than clothing. they came across an underground hideout where the counterfeiters left their equipment to make cigars and everyone was gone and so were the cigars like they were expecting them.
if you don't believe me or want more there's several information about counterfeiting that can be easily done by a google search. it wouldn't be easy for a company like bape to figure out who is selling real or fake online or in store across the world for obvious reasons.
and about changing the exclusiveness of the product, it wouldn't change a thing except for the fact that his products wouldn't sell out as fast and there would be people waiting in line for his clothes. it wouldn't be worth as much to people as it is now. LV's stuff isn't exclusive, no lines, and still knock offs, except the knock offs are worth less to the consumer because the people that really want it can just buy it in the store. but for bape if they really want it they'd have to buy it on ebay and the probably don't know which one is real or fake.
okay i just felt like a wrote a paper on this. goodnight :P

what they should do is have a whole bunch of fake bape designs made up then leak them to the fapers. then hopefully the ppl making all these fakes would waste nuff money making all these new hoodies that they think are gona be in the next seasons drop but infact never come out. the only problem is im sure loads of ppl would still be buying them on ebay for like half the price of real bape anyway..

And anyway there are no copyright laws in china, so they can make whatever they want. There have been cases of chinese companies getting the schematics of cars that arent even realeased yet, making them and selling them before the company that originally designed it came out with theirs. what they really need to do is crack down on that side of things.

they already make counterfeit brake pads that don't last as long so imagine a whole car. that's possible trouble right there :warn:

bape won't sue fapers cause nigo is too busy counting his stacks of cash. fapes don't affect sales whatsoever.

I wonder if Nigo is a participant in ebay's VeRO program - if so, it'd be easy enough for him to shut down the many bogus auctions. If not, joining would show that he trying to protect his property and would probably help reduce the abundance of fake material out there.

let me break this down for you guys as i have been studying the variant market in all its forms.
bathing ape or lv or such will never have any control or even a miniscule amount of influence on the production of fakes or overproduction at factories that the companies use. it happens everywhere, not only in china, but i'm sure variants come from stateside warehosues too. now why wouldn't nigo send his japanese attorneys to the streets of new york and weed these fape resellers out? because it is not fiscally feasable to do so. there are tens if not hundreds of thousands of fape resellers. now is nigo going to spend his money to press charges on everyone that deals in the fake bape market? it would not only drive him bankrupt, but it would be impossible.
on another note, isn't having copied and fake clothing a sort of compliment to the maker that he/she has made it? man if i had a clothing line, i would be kind of flattered that fakes were being made.
and most importantly, and listen closely... if someone is making fakes of your sh!t... you must be sitting on millions already. i mean MILLIONS. at that point, who the F@#$ cares? hope y'all learned something....

that would be geniusly insane! but it also would jeopardize his business and is unnecessary because he is already fifthy rich!

it's probably only feasable to do it if nike ever gets at him for knocking off af1's and air max's. Until then, I don't think it's needed. But if it happens...then he'll need the paper.

^^ true true......i was watching some lil documentary thing in school cuz my cousin he takes up fashion design at IADT in tampa...but they was saying that alot of the "bootlegs" like LV gucci and shit are made in the same factories as the authentic products ...the fakes or wateva u wanna call em are just defects or in some cases really really bad defects lol.
