So any of yall check out pride's first appearance in the U.S.? I've gotta admit, attending a pride event vs. attending a ufc event is no match. It seems as if the budget for pride is waaaaay more. Production is crazy. Pyrotechnics n shit. Crazy japanese music. Crazy intros. Just the whole vibe is phenomenal. Main event was Fedor vs Coleman. Butterbean fought, also vitor belfort, josh barnett, robbit lawler...pretty nuts. If you could ever imagine street fighter come to life, this would be the closest match.

hey man...
been a pride fan for years...definitly better than ufc (and a whole lot more violent)...i might get flamed for this but overall the best in the ufc are no match for the best in pride (with a few debatable exceptions). in terms of production and show its a whole new level. originally being based in japan very few people in the US or canada know bout it.
im just glad that its finally in the states...give it a few years and its gonna be much bigger than the ufc...not only in terms of money but fame and reputation too...

Best production in the USA. Pride needs to start promoting heavily in the USA because I think they can really become the premier MMA organization in the USA and the world.
If you watch UFC and dont know Pride...let me just tell you, the best fighters in the world are in Pride.

^^^did any of you go? anyway the owner of pride announced (japanese dude; forgot his name) said that pride will be in the US for good...also wanderlei silva made an appearance, didnt fight. he only came out to call out chuck lidell which was pretty funny. he says "i keep asking him to fight, but i guess he doesnt want to fight." Next event is gonna be in february, not sure of the venue yet. But Silva & Crocop is gonna be in it for sure.

i havent watched a lot of recent pride stuff but ive watched almost all of the older pride stuff and found a lot of it to be boring, it seemed like once a fight went to the ground it stayed there and if there was no action the guy on the bottom would get a yellow card, the soccer kicks and the stomps were exciting but now if pride is going to be based in the u.s. were not gonna see any of that and its gonna be ufc rules basically, so i dont see pride showing up the ufc anytime soon, obviously there last ppv was stacked with names but thats all it was, just names, im not taking away from any of the fighters but a lot of the guys on the show started in ufc and got beat up and moved on, that being said fedor is insane and pride does have a lot of good fighters like mirko and wanderlei but there shows used to have a lot of crappy japanesse fighters too and it will be interesting to see if they still use a lot of them or go the route the ufc is and find a lot of young talent thats good, i guess only time will tell

LOL @ you thinking the UFC is using young talent that is "good". The UFC is basically a United States fighting Company. Pride is an international fighting company.
You have fighters like Anderson Silva coming from Pride and destroying the UFC Middleweight Champion (Rich Franklin) with ease. Fedor would literally put Tim Sylvia in the hospital. Wand Silva is a very bad match up for Chuck and would be a great fight. The only division where UFC has an advantage is the welterweight Division (170 lbs) and thats partially becuase Pride doesnt have a 170 division and Matt Hughes is badass.
Pride puts out fight cards that are amazing while the UFC puts a good main event and then a bunch of King of the Cage rejects on the undercard. Wait till the New Years eve event if you want to see a real Mixed Martial Arts show.

Pride has a NYE show every year and they usually try to put on one of their best shows of the year. It'll be a great card. I didnt get to go to Vegas for this last card but i'll try to make it in Feb for the next show. Pride production is on a whole other level.

tito beat up wanderlei and vitor so its not like the ufc 205 is weak, and yea fedor is incredible theres no denying that and he would put sylvia in the hospital im pretty sure monson will put him in the hospital obviously fedor could probly easily defeat anyone in the heavyweight division, i think monson would be his only tough opponet but who are all these great international fighters in pride? i know theres the guys from chute box and a few europeans but the rest seem to be japanesse or american and yea, anderson kicked the shit out of franklin but that doesnt take anything away from franklin who has fought internationally, he fucked up it happens, the ufc 185 and heavyweight divisions are weak that why they brought in silva and there talking about bringing in linland but its not like the ufc is just full of shit american fighters
