Just came back from a showing of this and I must say that this is probably one of the greatest superhero films ever made along with Spiderman 2, Batman Begins, and X2. Im really excited to see what Marvel studios is going to do and am optimistic that that they can replicate this kind of success with their future films. But overall the movie was great, I think it satisfied the die hard comic fans but still entertained newcomers with the dynamic yet progressive storyline. Unlike "Spider-Man 1-3" I think it lived up to the hype. Robert Downey was a perfect choice as Tony (lol at liquor in almost every casual scene) but Gwenyth Paltrow just seemed too emo, didn't like her much in this movie (ie. the emotional scenes bet. her and Tony just seemed so bland and juvenile - I expected more from seasoned actors). But the ending after the credits left those who actually remained in the theater in cheers.

Iron Man isn't a huge character outside of the comics. He's not a character that people know right off the bat so for that matter I think that Iron Man did very well & it was a great movie.
I loved it & I think it was by far one of the best adaptations from a comic but it was not the best at all.
I sincerely hope Faverau does not fuck up the sequel. I think he did well this time so I'm hopping he'll pay enough attention next time.
Of course though Batman will reign supreme.

I still can not, as well, see Sam Jackson as Nick Fury. I know in the Ultimates they drew him after Sam Jackson but I've always known Fury as a rough older dude. Idk, I'll get past it.

I totally agree. Nick Fury needs to be played by a rugged dude. Like a young Clint Eastwood haha with gray hair on the sides.
