Just something I noticed when checking the "For Sale" section. It's strange that if someone re-sells kicks at up to twice the retail price or more, no one bitches. No one even complains that Retail Shops w/SB accounts sell shit for twice Nike retail (highs $75) Morks go for $150? They take it as the way the game goes. Look at Unkles, Luckys, Supremes, ect all sell for WAY over retail. But if someone sells a Chain Gang hoody for more than $20 over retail everyone flames them. Why? If you don't want it, don't cop it, why bitch? They are both limited, so what is the difference?
Just wondering.............

its because people are cheap. they are more willing to purchase more common more easily ruined sneakers then clothes. Its whatever though thats the market, its just funnier people are so much more meticulous with the clothes then the sneaks, but again, thats just the market

its about clout and resale value. the two things that drive sneaker prices nowadays...

1. people pay a premium for the status a certain shoe will grant them. much like spending 1500 dollars on a louis vuitton purse, even though thats the retail, its def. not worth that much. so spending 500 on a shoe that will get kids to think how cool you are, is worth it to some kids.

2. resale value. with kicks becoming baseball cards, the speculation of how much money they will be worth later on is factored into the equation of whether the price is worth the return.

thats why bape hoodies got so crazy in the states, which was partly fueled by the shoes. they were artificially limited due to distribution constraints, and the already high price. so they became highly sought after, and people could resell them at a profit. this drove up the street value, and the resell value factor is now placed on hoodies more than ever. with limited shirts and such getting big too, its the same deal.

the reason why people bitch about the hoodies and whatnot, is there are people who are not used to dealing with that type of market for clothes, but shoes had to go through the same growing pains of the people who were into it before not wanting to deal with the newbies driving the prices up and killing it for them. same situation.

but i think sometime re-seller take advantage of the fact some don't know where to buy these items. Which isnt as limited and jack the price up. For ex: some dude tried to sell the orisu hoody for $50-$60 more than retail, when you can get it at gsc or fizix or even direct from orisue. Kinda gay. I understand you make money on very limited stuff that re-seller waited hours for, you deserve to make that money.
