ok ok i know we have a few great denim threads already. the problem is 90% of the denim in there is to expensive. i could (and have) asked for cheap stuff in there but thats not what the focus of the thread is.

sbskater954 found selvedge zoo york denim for $25 at marshalls http://www.hypebeast.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10763&page=2

so anybody else know of any deals?

Hah wasn't i the 1 to discover the gap selvedge? Anyways I've only checked 1 gap and I didn't see them cuz all of the more expensive gap mens and womens denim were on the same table so I haven't checked any other stores.

No, it'd been mentioned before you said it. Even Abercrombie makes selvage though.

Homi's right though, if you're going to be spending lots of money on your shoes, why not on your denim? 2-3 real quality pairs should suffice.

^you know tahts going to be next big thing.

anyway all i wear is denim. i think it would be weird to only have 2 jeans all year round.do other people do that? maybe i'm in the wrong about that. and spening hundreds on shoes? HA! these damn shoe companies don't make anything nice in 14. and when your basicly working minimum wage, $140 for jeans isn't a steal. i'm gonna put some of these suggestions to work on saturday.

I was at the levis store, and they had the 501 raw selvedge for $175 USD. Not a bad price... but Supreme also has their selvedge jeans for $120 which is pretty good on a budget.

Honestly, I think denim is one thing that you shouldn't compromise on. Just splurge and get that one really nice pair of jeans in exactly your size. Don't settle for a 31 or 33 at Nordstrom Rack if you're a 32. Buy the perfect jean and wear the shit out of it. I paid close to $300 for my Nudie RRDS about 6 mo. ago, worn em everyday since, never washed em. If you think about that, you probably wash a normal pair of jeans once a week? That's $5 a week, $20 a month, $120 for six months. Plus, multiple pairs of jeans. Just splurge on em, you will thank yourself later.

seriously the fit should be as important as the price...dont settle for something you dont want...only casue the price or the brand

man still havent found my perfect size, i like loose fit usually cuz i can run in them and when i sit down my socks dont show but long enough so i can show a little cuff. i kno my waist size is 30 but whats a good length size to fit my needs? im about 5'7" and skinny

paper denim and etiene ozeki can be found for well under 100$. as far as dry denim goes, you know theres a premium to be paid for that. jack and mabel has a good deal on nudie SSDry's for about 115 shipped. of course theres very good deals to be found thrifting through your town.

how about some cheap mondays and some levi's 501 stf..they are easily under $100 and still has a decent fit..also try guess and buffalo if you want to thrift more..if you really want to get some DEALS try tj maxx and feline's basement..got some premium denim there for around $40-100..

What exactly is the diff between selvadge and raw denim...
They last longer? Darker/lighter colours?

awwsheeet
08-06-2006, 11:25 AM
selvedge is a denim making process ...more durable...cost more...softer and has a few more special characteristics that projectile loom denim doesnt

raw is a wash of jean..the wash is called raw which means theres no wash. the jean is made from cloth...folded up and sold..thats it. no wash no distress. just the plainest jean which means its dark, its going to shrink and it will fade and bleed. but you want all that
