bape aint dead yet...im still a big fan and u will always see a pair a bapestas on my feet...but this season the line is kinda boring...in my opinion nigo is slackin lol..i just picked up this seasons new catalog and it seems like all the clothes are just recycled and slightly varied so that it looks new...like adding crystals to the camo or sumthin dumb like that...i wanna see sumthin new...nigo needs to start taking some risks...hes playing it too safe sticking to the same designs...if he keeps this up hes gonna lose alotta new york money (not that he cares cuz hes so fuckin rich)...but i know my fellow new yorkers like to stay fresh thats just what we do and what were known for...im not saying bape is wack or anything so please no1 threaten to kill me because i know alot of u die hard bape fans are real serious about that...im just saying it needs sumthing new...but hey i guess u can never go wrong with some good ol bape stas :P

LV aint dead yet...im still a big fan and u will always see a monogram in my pocket... but this season the line is kinda boring...in my opinion Marc Jacobs is slackin lol..i just picked up this seasons new catalog and it seems like all the leather goods are just recycled and slightly varied so that it looks new...like adding colors to the bags or sumthin dumb like that...i wanna see sumthin new...LV needs to start taking some risks... Marc playing it too safe sticking to the same designs...if he keeps this up hes gonna lose alotta new york money (not that he cares cuz hes so fuckin rich)...but i know my fellow new yorkers like to stay fresh thats just what we do and what were known for...im not saying LV is wack or anything so please no1 threaten to kill me because i know alot of u die hard LV fans are real serious about that...im just saying it needs sumthing new...but hey i guess u can never go wrong with some good ol LV

See my point? You can say that about almost any well known brand.

but bighed has a pt.

Its getting very boring.

And u cant say that for any brand because something like LV is known for it's amazing quality...those brands are more like status symbols.

Bape is a brand that represents unique street style but its not getting unique anymore..

yea thats what i mean bape is supposed to be exclusive and not just your rinky dink upscale boutique like LV Gucci Prada etc... bape is supposed to be different and thats what makes every1 wanna cop a t shirt for 80+ instead of spending 30...but like i said ull always see me with a pair on my feet...just the clothes need sum spunk
oh and i got me a lv wallet too i guess thats just sumthin that has to be done:rolleyes:

In Japan bape is a status symbol. I see dudes pushing SL65 AMGs and 645s wearing bape head to toe. Those prices you are quoting are the resellers prices not retail, the reason why prices are so high is because Bape is still limited and hard to get. I can't think of another brand in the world where you have to win a lottery just to have the pleasure of buying their stuff.

My point was bape is not built on allways doing crazy fresh stuff it is built on selling limited quantities of things which are recognizeably Bape. You can usually tell bape stuff from a block away and that is really the point of the brand. If Bape started producing a lot of weird stuff that was not instantly recognizeable as Bape then you would see a lot of those items sitting on the shelf instead of selling out everyday.

hahahaha, you all crack me up

bape died a long time ago

i have been wearing bape since 98

before most of you cats knew about anything related to fashion of this type

pharrell williams killed it along time ago

previously it was all secret and the feeling you got from wearing it was unexplainable, yet now you cant turn the corner without seeing a 'jd sport' fool busting a 'camo' hoody

bape is soooo cliche now, its ridiculous

it used to be so tight, next thing we will see is paris hiltons dog dressed up in a camo outfit

you guys really have to grow up and accept that its dead, most of you cats who still like it/are in denial, ecaus eyou probably just found out about it over the last year or 2 through 'pharrell'

hence bape is dead, and certainly not cool

thats why im selling my nerd tee and eventually all my bape... here is the tee

Pharell killed the brand? But at one point you thought he was cool enough to get a nerd shirt??

Also, don't act like bape was a secret in '98. All the crappy mainstream magazines like The Face, i-d etc. were writing about bape by that time.

Although I did have a pair of sample bapes in the 7th grade = all white leather (which I hade no idea wtf they were, I thought they were some different af1's by Nike), Im a senior in college now and Bape is no where near dead.....

It is pissin me off that ALL celebs are wearin it now like when I bought the damn multi camo hoody in august and tossed it in my closet then see Weezy wearin it 3 months later in his video and everyone is in my face like ohhh thas weezys outfit.....NO BITCH, this shit is mine and it aint nothin new.......

And it did piss me off when NIgo changed the star for these NY fuckas so now I get in arguments wit people who try to tell me my 11th anniversaries(and any otha ones from foot soldier) are fake because the star isnt wide like the ones now(shakin my head)......

See how the public reacts when the BWS goes up in L.A. - then we will know if its dead or not......If it is, all my shit is goin for sale and im goin to buy me a new whip

^so you're only buying clothes based on its popularity?

Young_Gav
03-16-2006, 04:56 AM
^definately not, i think me wearing it as long as i have would prove that

but you know how it is to wear somethin that is different and no one has it and you like it.......its like being on cloud 9, but then when u see the shit everywhere and you have lames formulating opinions on somethin when they got on bapes that you can literally fold in half it pisses me off

bottom line is the effort i spend in makin sure my shit is authentic and the money i drop, it clearly could be used for better purposes and if this shit keeps spreadin so damn mainstream that i see ads and shit and the bootleggin shit gets too damn out of control my shit will be sold and used for other stuff

clearly i have atleast 10'gs worth of bape stuff which i could have used to buy cars to sell, other exclusice nikes, ice, real estate, etc. but I love bape so I get what i want but im not gonna be wastin my time if its gonna become the next LRG

You could have spent 10'gs on real estate? Where do you live? I'm moving there.

what the fuck is wrong with you people?....i started the thread by saying BAPE AINT DEAD!!!!!....big emphasis on the AINT DEAD part...why is everybody getting so salty for?...it aint like i killed your goldfish...and for the people who are so mad that bape is mainstream because they are "individuals" and they dont want every1 to be "as cool as them"...why the fuck u so concerned on wat every1 else is wearing?...if people wanna wear bape let em wear it if they cant afford 300 for a hoodie and wanna spend 50 let em do it?..how does that make a difference in your life?
get over it...theres alot more fake bape out there then real...just deal with it

bape is undead. i think its still hot, but at the same time i wish people are more original when they wear them. i see too many people just wearing the bape hoodys w/bapesta. i was at a club in la the other night and i saw some guy wearing some decent clothes that i would say is his own style, but what suprised me was that he was rockin the xmen bapes. i like seeing bape hidden in peoples styles, not when they try TOO hard to show it off
