DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!-02
February 9, 2010
When I make and exhibit new artwork, American Appeal launches into new campaign using almost the same graphic in couple months. I have no idea why they do this. This has been happening since their first visual campaign. I guess they gather those who has no pride in photography, such as Miko Lim, and have them shot as AA wants... Well, maybe it's just my imagination. What do you think?

this sucks, no creativity, just copy
i think you're giving yourself too much credit. i've seen this same idea done over many times before
read the interview, Motion.
I support you Yone!
its okay, atleast ur asian girls are 100% hotter than these 'cool ugly hipster white girls' (who r skinny) rather see some hot pure asian chicks
You're absolutely right! This is American Apps M.O.!!!! There is no real creativity in the brand, they sell some good T's but the majority of their operation budget goes to marketing. The rules are simple take something iconic, even if on a small scale, steal the idea and prepare it for the masses. They simply watch what you do then they copy it. This is what you should do. Create an experiment. Dig down deep for some radical ideas and put them out yourself and then wait and see if their is some incarnation of your ideas into AA. I bet they show up! They have used your style for years now and wow what do you know! Most people who don't have a clue actually think they are doing something original. They've been sued numerous times for copyright infringement. Perhaps you should create something that will force them to admit that they steal. In that bad way.
I strongly agree with Motion "i think you’re giving yourself too much credit. i’ve seen this same idea done over many times before". and even more that i dont think your photo style are that original, since i have seen those style before you even came to be popular ... i'm not a hater, instead I LOVE YOUR WORK AND YOUR PHOTO but you are just too much about yourself.
peace
i agreed with Motion at first
the example shown in this blog isn't that good... I've seen that idea many times
but then I read the interview, and if true, it seems much more likely
there's a LOT more evidence and potential of copy/influence
I don't know what's worse, how I admired Charney's 'style' and presentation of his brain without even putting two and two together, or the fact that he apologized for copying your style yet continues to do it even down to the different ways your present your work!
even if like wat u hv said.. they copy u..but they did it way better than you.. its about the treatment, not only the concept.
