Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending an event that is held very closely to my heart, it was the launch of AOC 50th anniversary, and event hosted by Martin Leung, and Tommy O'gara at the Delstore location.

Delstore is located in the very hip area of Wanchai off of the Star Street area, the exact location is off of the end of Ship Street, a very hip street of restaurants and still hip yet undeveloped back end of the Ship Street, actually the location of this store really reminds me of Nakameguro in Tokyo. (here photographed is Derek of Delstore)
A little background information on AOC - (i am not 100% sure) but it was a store that was in Hong Kong in the late 60's owned by a very old man, and as that old man was retiring, Martin inherited the brand name along with a large collection of Vintage frames, it was Martin's dream to one day re-establish the AOC name and to release some eyewear based on the inspiration and the dedication to eyewear from this one old man.
Today it has become a reality, with a few key styles being released, this one below is titled the 122.

this frame is called "The Shanghai"

and this one which is my favorite is "The Wilson"

here is Martin (left) the man of the hour, really smashed and happy and relived at the same time that the collection is launching, he has helped me tremendously pursue my passion of Eyewear and its very a happy moment for me to see that he has accomplished something of his own that he is proud of, it is always amazing for me to see friends and peers growing and innovating themselves, and I always hope that what I do inspires my peers also to grow and to expand, and tonight, I am very happy to see this evolution.

It wouldn't be an eyewear party if it wasn't for Tommy O'Gara (Dita Eyewear) he is one of the first people I have met in the eyewear industry, and he's been coming back to Hong Kong almost for 4 years now, he comes to town fresh off of the amazing execution of the Thom Browne x Dita Eyewear and now some new ink.

Today I attended the opening of Heather Grey Wall in Taipei, Heather Grey Wall is a select store conceptualized by Kazuki Kurashi and opened its doors a few months ago in a discreet location near Yoyogi Park in Tokyo, and today its officially opened its doors to a location in Taipei.
Here is Edison and Kazuki and Ieda doing the final check ups and the renovations for the store.

the store mainly consists of items that Kazuki worked on personally, including Cash Ca, Immune (new bag line) Diptyque candles and various small items that are specially made for the store,

including silk screen printed t-shirts on champion bodies designed by Mark McNairy, Madsaki and the list goes on, these items are specific for the Taipei Heather Grey Wall store.
