Best day ever…Joel Centeio

Its been along road for one of our friends Joel Centeio. The guy has to be one of the most respected guys in surfing, you would think its about his surfing talent but more so its about his great personality . Always smiling even when times are bad , always there for friends when they are in time of need.
Here is a quick story i did on Hypebeast on Joel
This year has be especially tough with Joel , with one of his major sponsors kinda losing faith in him , they stopped helping him follow the world tour. Which is kinda a surfing relegation in a way. It was a shame as he is an icon in our state of Hawaii and only being 25 years old it was kinda lame . But redemption has been had! Joel just shocked the surfing world 2 days ago with his first ever win at the most prestgeos surfing series in the world.
The triple crown of surfing. The day felt like a dream like it was supposed to happen. all the best waves came Joel's way, his surfing was on point, the other competitors couldnt match up to it. With Joel winning the event we all felt like winners too, the whole crew of people that know him and how he is with all of us , we all went home feeling the same feeling as Joel. The feeling of redemption and just pure joy. His dad was there with his all his family, his wife was there with hers. What a day.
Jun, I felt the same way too, locked into my computer at work all day, racing home to catch the final, talking with the boys on the beach during the day. Joel's friends are such a support crew, and the aloha reaches back to the mainland for anyone fortunate enough to call Joel a friend. Soooo stoked for that kid.
