Its one of those things that just made sense to do. Alot of the projects we have done are from friendships forged in the past. It all started along time ago as a small little onion of a surfer i started to travel all over the place i met some great humans Lyndon the shop manager of the world famous Huntington Beach Surf and Sport was one of them. From there on out i would see Lyndon here and there through out the years , always sharing a good vibe and good surfing times in his hometown of Huntington Beach. Then it all came together, with Lyndon being brought on at Analog clothing as the sales manager! We have always kept track of what we were working on over time. Then it all came together as they wanted to do a special Hawaii specific piece , guess right place right time the ideas came a flowing. Why not utilize the iconic shaka as a print? So you have it. Analog brought on in Mike Coots (another long time buddie whos story will be told more in future blogs) to gather all the Shakas from around the island chain, if you look closely every shaka has its own personality! Thats the beauty of Hawaii being from here you can actually see the persons personality from how they throw the Shaka!
From there we needed it to get shot so i found Brooke

who has been making some noise over here in Hawaii, a local girl at heart with an incredible amount of worldwide talent.

She is capable of anything i do believe as in the short years she has been taking photos she is well on her way to a career in it. Another component in the shoot is no other than Kapu Ping.
This kid is the good all around guys guy. Alot of pro surfers nowdays are just that... pro surfers. Kapu has that special quality to be able to hang out with the crew and be one of the boys. Thats the very reason why i decided to put him on as the face of the Aloha Army....... everyone involved in this project has a bright future ahead of them and thats what makes these kinds of projects so extra special. The stories behind things are rare nowadays......
