Lui Araki and Naotaka Ohya are the first 2 original Know1edge riders in Japan. They’re both like family to us way before Know1edge even started. Lui is originally from Kobe and now resides in Tokyo with Nao.
Lui Araki was pretty much the first Japanese rider that was on the original Zoo York team roster and it was a big deal, not that he was just lucky but he’s just got this talent on his skateboard with his special unique style: the LUI style aka Dope Style, youtube his name and check him out, he skates with a lot of flow, ill manuals and he pops out off everything. Now he reps Know1edge (still), Nitraid, DVS, and L I F E
Naotaka Ohya has another unique style. He also has this unique ability to stay at 51kg (before and after a huge meal for about 15 years now), he can maintain his high air style in whatever he does, definitely one of the best nollie backside heel in the industry. Don’t be fooled by his shyness and humble appearance, this cat can skate his ass off. Respect.
He reps Know1edge along with, Etnies, Uniful (co-partner with Shin Okada), and L I F E
Both Lui and Nao are homies and they just started their own line called L I F E, it’s still a very small brand but keep an eye on L I F E products cause they make nothing but super high cashmere quality products.
Lui and Nao, thank you for supporting us since day one.

Lui has some of the illest photographs…we thought we’d show you some of HK through Lui Araki’s eyes!

Jeremy Fox started Death Box back in the late eighties, trial and error.
He moved to the US broke and started FLIP skateboards with his hometown heroes Geoff Rowley, Tom Penny and Rune Glifberg.
I still remember clearly when 411VM was introducing FLIP skateboards, it was mind blowing.
Soon after, Tom Penny became everyone’s favorite…many of the skateboarders started mimicking Tom by rubbing their noses after they’d landed their tricks BUT sadly, none of them came close to looking like Tom. All good, it’s all love.
FLIP skateboards soon after became one of the most successful skateboard brands with respected skateboarders. Then a few years ago, The Firm merged with FLIP and made it even stronger.
Now, with their latest DVD EXTREMELY SORRY, just released with a lot of blood and sweat, FLIP is now stronger than ever.
Their riders are the most diverse with the original Geoff Rowley (insane part, dope ass music), Tom Penny, Mark Appleyard (my favorite part), and Rune Glifberg, they added Lance Mountain (mad respect), Rodrigo TX (ill as fuck, master of pop), Shane Cross (RIP), Louie Lopez (Gangsta), Curren Caples (ill new skater with old blood), Willow (one of the illest German skaters), Bob Burnquist (he makes mega ramp like a launch ramp), Luan Oliviera (what? what? tech master for sure), Ali Boulala, and yo, David Gonzales (lil Beast, fuckin insane)
Jeremy was here in Hong Kong again and of course after staying in China for a week, he needed to get some fresh burgers going on, Shake em Buns is where to go. Gang Bang burger baby, I’m glad Jeremy’s feeling it. Let’s do it again sun. GOOD LUCK on FLIP, it will only get stronger.

I’ve mentioned several times and I’ma mention it again, Mr Danny Reyes, the dude behind the brand LOVEWRIGHT came out super proper again with his HOLIDAY 2009 Collaboration s/s tee shirts; The Hundreds, Commune, Eevl Goose and Chase Tafoya. All these 4 companies did an amazing great job on graphics. Respect.
Don’t sleep, whenever you are at your local store, ask for LOVEWRIGHT, make sure they carry it.
