OMIYAGE #2.
July 26, 2010

Have been absolutely snowed under by work over the past week, so just wanted to take a quick break to say thank you to a couple of friends who were kind to send some very useful items over for the cold winter season. As I'm sure a few of you can relate, receiving items from friends is one thing, but receiving items from friends that you actually find useful... that can be a rare occurence.

Mike Martin from MASH SF/Martin clothing - still trying to convince me to ride more. Man I love this new histogram print, I actually laughed out loud (I hear there's an acronym for that nowadays...) when I first saw it. So nerd. So useful too when you're out on your bike in < 6deg weather.

And a round of thanks to Stephen Mann/seenmy/thenonplace for these excellent arc'teryx veilance pieces. (btw, I love the Veilance homepage) I have had these three items - the windstopper jacket, BA04 longsleeve, and windstopper field pants on constant rotation in one form or another since I opened the package. When others have been layering up something ridiculous to get through these antipodean Antarctic blasts I've been able to get away with just a couple of layers with these pieces. On days like it is outside right now you truly appreciate this marriage between function and fashion that Veilance embodies. But, more on that soon...
