Agency land can be rather dry at times behind the "glamour" of advertising. Then again, I always enjoy seeing various agencies' creative spaces, where the real work happens. Much like Mad Men, really, but without the indoor smoking and daytime drinking. The other night we caught up with our friend Chris Lewis, an Art Director for the local office of global advertising agency TBWA\WHYBIN. You might recognize some of their past work:

- Apple. "Silhouettes" (TBWAChiatDay)
- Adidas Football. "FIFA 2006 World Cup ball launch"
- NZ All Blacks. "Adi-Thread"

We took a quick tour around the creative floor with Chris, as well as taking a peek at their trophy wall.

This was part of a campaign for student/tertiary accounts for existing client ASB bank, NZ's oldest banking institution (est. 1847). The luxuries of student living. Premium TP. Always essential.

This is not a Jersey. No, it's a Friesian?

My favourite trophy. This is an award from Oktobor films - I'm not entirely sure which campaign it was won for, but I like it because the trophy design was inspired by the old saying - "You can't polish a turd." Which is kind of funny because you also have to polish the award itself every so often to keep it shiny.

Speaking of creative trophies - the Silver Bullet trophy from the "Young Guns" awards. The Young Guns is purely for under 30 y/o creatives, and well, you get the reference to the trophy design. Goes to show the pretty young and dynamic creative department at TBWA\WHYBIN.

Oh, and they had these lying around like doorstops. Some Cannes award or whatever. [/sarcasm]

Speaking of large cats, in other news, we've been commissioned to build an installation for the Tiger Translate art event this Saturday evening. Here's a clue. More soon on that.
