MELBURN #2. LTRHDS.
February 26, 2010

Held in conjunction with the official Buffet launch party was the opening of the "LTRHDS" show here in Melbourne. Curated by Nice Produce's Alex Mitchell and James Reka, the show features original works from 26 local and international artists from different disciplines, each assigned a letter of the English alphabet. A huge turnout for the opening, and by the time we arrived two hours after the opening 80% of the show had been booked. Incredible.

She One (UK) - C.

Craig KR Costello (USA) - E.

Meggs (AUS) - F.

James Reka (AUS) - H.

Usugrow (JP) - S.

Kano Hollamby (AUS) - U.

Shohei Takasaki (JP) - V.

Puzle (AUS) - Z.

To accompany the show they also produced a limited run book in a cardboard cover. Beautiful paper stock and layout. The book features interviews with all 26 artists involved in the show, penned by our very talented mutual friend Anthony Costas. Thanks for this. Very appreciated.

Congratulations Alex on the sell-out show. Incredible effort, and it shows. I can't even fathom trying to co-ordinate 26 artists for a show. If you're in town or in the area, the show will be up until 19/03/10, so please do find the time to see the show in its entirety before it moves onto Sydney.

I agree, Graeme's "A" was beautiful, and iconic to all the Australian kids who grew up reading his books. I swear I did take a photo of it but for some reason I can't locate it on my memory card. I wasn't feeling the best that night though. We arrived at about 10:30pm, so the show was close to closing by then.
