ACCLAIMED.
February 21, 2010

Just a friendly shout to Andrew and the team at Acclaim Magazine, who featured quarters boutique, our select menswear boutique space in the latest issue of Acclaim.
Based in Melbourne, Australia (no, it's not the same country) Acclaim has come from rather humble beginnings over the years from a very hiphop and graffiti orientated publication to delving into fashion, art, vinyls, music, and interviews with some of the top personalities in our industry. They've progressed as the scene has progressed, which is no small feat, especially so for an established title. It's nice to see magazines in our region actually keeping up with the speed of culture... a topic that I will elaborate on during my presentation at the Buffet tradeshow this upcoming weekend in Melbourne.
Speaking of Buffet, just in case you are in the area I've been given the great opportunity to be flown over to Melbourne Australia to make a keynote presentation at one of their discussion forums over the weekend. Buffet is our region's first art/design/street culture tradeshow, presented and organized by Acclaim alongside Fashion Exposed, who host the Sydney and Melbourne fashion week events. Judging from friends we've spoken to recently over the ditch it seems like the entire industry is converging in Melbourne next weekend for the event, so it should be a party of epic proportions. Joining me on the podium will be Jeff Staple, who has also been tasked with a presentation, alongside Q&A sessions with panellists like Woody, Chey Ataria, MAFIA, and others. In case you are remotely interested, I have been pulling my hair out this week preparing a presentation detailing the Changing Face of Retail, elaborating on integrating new marketing ideas into the traditional retail business models, as well as staying dynamic and relevant in these times.
Apparently there are less than 10% of forum tickets left available, so if you're interested in listening to a bunch of us ramble on about our thoughts, do pick up your tickets here.
Despite the close proximity of our countries I actually seldom travel there, so I'm very much looking forward to catching up and hanging out with friends and fellow industry colleagues.
See you all soon for laughs and good times. Go easy on the VB please.
