PRIMARY FLIGHT.

I've been reading with rather envious eyes over our good friend and artist Askew's twitter updates over the past week or so. Askew (TMD SUK), one of the region's most talented spraycanne artistes was flown to Miami for Primary Flight at Art Basel this year. Primary Flight, which started in 2007 is probably one of the most insane and high profile graffiti jams out there - with almost every writer you could think of, from street heavyweights to the writers who have transcended into the 'fine arts' world producing site-specific, street level, mural installations. Even more impressive with the international contemporary art world's eyes - collectors, critics, buyers, media, agents, et al firmly focused on Miami during Art Basel week. Askew painted alongside Augor, Ewok and other Ironlak USA team members and joined a dream-team roster of artists featured in this year's Primary Flight, including Revok, Rime, Retna, Ron English (how's that for onomatopoeic?), The London Police, El Mac, Shepard Fairey, and countless others.
