TOKYO NE #1. SU-TAR-TO.
October 7, 2009
It's been rather non-stop since I got off the plane here in Tokyo, with meetings every day since I've been here. Seeing that it's a full blown typhoon out there tonight, I thought it might be a good opportunity to kick off the chronicles for this visit so far. On Monday night I caught up with Fraser in Omotesando. Always fun and a bit of a hoot talking to Fraser about all the things going on within our industry.
If you find yourself at the Bulgari cafe on Omotesando, try the "Black Rain" cocktail. Black sambucca with champagne. Might sound a bit weird at first but it's a surprisingly nice tipple. The Sambucca seems to leave a pretty nice subtle aftertaste after the champagne. Goes down pretty quickly though, so be warned.
Straight after, we headed to our friend Shaka Dave (St Alfred's/KICKSHI) and his partner Jun's little house-warming shindig. Dave cooked up a storm in the kitchen - an amazing meal, including Kobe gyu.
Saw some old friends, made some new ones. Leo, Kid, and everybody else - it was a pleasure.
The lovely hosts of the evening. Thank you Dave and Jun. Much mahalo brah.
Still loving the GF1. Even with just a couple of small nagging features, it's still a brilliant camera. Am definately appreciating it more as each day passes.
