Q123 #2 - KAZUKI KURAISHI for Q123.
"Q123" LOGO and "MIX" CREWNECK SWEATSHIRT
Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi needs little introduction to people well versed in the Japanese design realm. With an impressive portfolio and client list that includes Fragment Design, Levis FENOM, Neighborhood, Visvim, Bape, Whiz Ltd as well as his own signature adidas Originals line and countless other brands, he is truly one of the most sought after designers in this highly competitive arena.
With his imminent arrival into New Zealand, we thought it was a good time to showcase the next item in our Q123 Anniversary Collection, featuring the work of the man himself.
Kazuki contributed to the collection overall by designing the official logo of the Q123 collection, taking inspiration from the legendary audio brand UREI, his favourite mixer in his collection of audio equipment. This selection was rather poignant as it is a reference to Qubic Store's goal of "mixing" cultures from all over the world, not only introducing global concepts to New Zealand, but bringing New Zealand projects to the world. The "MIX" crewneck sweatshirt is constructed out of 300gsm cotton, and features custom made patches symbolizing the mix of cultures as well as references to Kazuki's own influences in his work.
The "MIX" crewneck sweatshirt will retail for NZ$150 (~US$90/JPY10,000) and debut in limited quantities at Qubic Store during the Qubic Celebrates Originals w/Kazuki Kuraishi event on Friday 28th August, alongside the launch of the adidas Originals By Originals KZK FW09 collection.
I would so like to go to the launch event, but I think I'm gonna be brain dead after university tests.(T-T)
