Critical Thinking

Some people love a challenge, i truly don’t. Make my life as easy as possible. The less thinking i have to do, the more room i can save in my mental hard drive for the essentials, like cartoons, violence and pornography. Thinking however is a very underrated activity, not many people do it and those that do it don’t do it well enough, so the challenges brought to us are met with the most base of responses. We load the sick with drugs, we blow up our enemies and we tap on the walls in interstate rest stops when we feel a stir in our loins (i mean, not me, but other people that are not me). We basically are cavemen with more access to technology.
Maybe its just me, i don’t think with my gut and i’m probably not that quick on the draw. I have the reflexes of a drug addled senior citizen and I get caught like a deer in headlights when a car is barreling at me. My brain may be my fastest muscle but while you’re throwing your first punch my mind is still processing a witty followup to the remark that caused those enclosed digits to fly at me in the first place.
The predispostion to relegate myself to thinking does help at some points. Like my proposition to ending crime around the world by setting up bear traps in preschools (pre-emptive strike, get em while they’re young) or conceptualizing campaigns with the guys at 10. Deep.
One would think that our brainstorming sessions involved a a round table, projectors and a laser pointer but really just give us some music some pizza and some Country Time lemonade and we’ve planned out our processes from now til’ the end of the year and produced shoots like this upcoming fall 09 shoot. It may not be scientific, or organized or in some people’s eyes it might not even be any good
but its the thought that counts.
i kinda wish i had a laser pointer tho.
more behind the scenes action after the jump

this was an epic post. love the way you think.
i agree with what you have said about thought. not enough people use their brain often enough. admittedly, i take time shortcuts whenever possible to make my life easier. i can’t say i necessarily enjoy a challenge. I think a challenge is a good thing though. it helps you grow. and your first experience makes doing it the next time much easier.

funniest guy ever! hahaha
Great post. Really looking forward to the new 10 deep. As a company 10 deep means a lot to me. It was the first brand I ever encountered in the “streetwear” bubble and I’m still a fan to this day. The first 10 deep pieces I picked up were jeans and the “summer of no love” t-shirt. The jeans have now seen better days but I just packed the same t-shirt (however many years on) for an upcoming trip to Israel. Good work on the blog and good work with an exceptional brand.
Challanges can sometimes just be the wrong was to do something disguised as the right way.
my faith does keep my from failing. I have faith in God who is all mighty and gives me my strength when Im weak. And as a result my prayers for success get answered!
We all have have our belief systems. Just turns out that my belief in Me is whats most productive on a personal level. The only thing i have faith in is me, but its whatever works for you and i cant knock your choice.
just wanted to say you have been writing the most insightful posts I’ve read on this site in a long time..props
