when i woke up i wasn't to keen on riding today, why i don't know just wasn't. i called everybody who i know has a bike but everybody was still in sundaydepression, which i said could be cycled away. in the end i rolled out alone because i had still some new mash gear that needed to be welcomed in berlin. mike martin send me some new armwarmers and legwarmers which i needed today since there was a cold wind blowing. the wind i s a thing i am not too much a friend of. i'd rather climb hills, since they will end at some point. the wind can really get to you since it comes in waves and somehow can just bring you to an absolute still stand when you were going 30km/h just a minute ago. i had beautiful tailwind on my way out which is something beautiful when you go and you think wow, 35km/h never felt that easy, i have amazing legs today, and the first cyclist who comes back from where you are going looks like he is climbing some tour de france pass makes you wonder. well i only wanted to go for a short ride to well, just stretch my legs but i was charmed by the tailwind and found myself way out of berlin and in the end there were 111km on my clock.
it's gotta be the armwarmers mike ! cheers for everything....

You sure it was 111 k's, did you maybe mix it up with miles? Or was it maybe 1111 k's?
Just curious what gear you ride when you're out of the city on longer rides?
Do you keep the same for everything or switch it up a bit?
I'm in Chicago and I like getting out of the city on my track bike to go for long rides, but it's completely flat in this area so I just stick with 49x16.
Cheers.
i ride the same as you for long rides, cause berlin is super flat as well, sometimes i go for 48/18 to have more spin in the legs...
True! Cuz if Superartoo changes to 49x16 he cannot stop riding and the clock goes BOOOM and the animal suddenly reached russia. 300-400 k's, no prob for DJ Artoo. So are you going to join the Vuelta this year? Or do we have to wait for next years TdF? Looking forward for more stories this winter:-)
luk ! there will be stories mate ! maybe we should do a ride together from berlin to moscow next summer
I like a bit of spin as well sometimes. 49/18 is where it's at.
By the way...I didn't realize that you did the London to Paris ride until a few days ago, but we have a mutual friend in common.
Ryan "geez" Giese.
Man, I've known Geez since we were about 14 or 15. We both started skateboarding together and met because our grandparents both lived next door to eachother.
I know Nish pretty well too from Chicago and skateboarding.
It's amazing how small of a world it is.
Take care friend.
