saturday night with the Mayer

last saturday saw the long awaited live installment of mayer hawthorne here in berlin. resoul and me were playing to support the show. sold out show, 300 people were turned away at the door, 450 were rammed up into the soul club and it got hot fast in there, shame was that mayer had the crowd waiting for close to two and a half hours. people were restless, some even left before he even started to play, so when he came out he started to play all his fans were ecstatic, going mental. to all who love him he delivered a good show i guess, for me he somehow just played it from a to z in one big swoop, since i know that this was his 28th show in a row i can feel that this is a point where you might get tired, but when you play soul you need to have that with you at all times. the energy in the room was crazy tho and like i said he delivered, that he did, what i was missing was the little bit extra. i will be at the next show for sure...
