The second annual three-day The Meadows Music and Arts Festival once again took to Citi Field in Queens, New York for a weekend packed with notable musical acts. Day one’s 19 act lineup drew a sizeable crowd as fans eagerly awaited sets from Blood Orange, Sky Ferreira, Joey Bada$$, Migos, 21 Savage and more.

Still riding the release of his debut album, 21 Savage kicked off day one with a medley of songs lead by his Issa Album hit, “Bank Account.” Later on Migos took to the stage in the afternoon delivering a performance of tracks off of their highly successful Culture album, hyping the crowd up with a live rendition of “Bad and Boujee” along with a few solo tracks. But as the sun went down headliner JAY-Z showed just why he was undeniably the main draw of day one. The legendary New York rapper businessman stole the show gracing the main stage for a career-spanning performance. Accompanied by a 40-foot Jeff Koons Balloon Dog, Hova performed “Run This Town,” “No Church In the Wild,” “Lucifer,” “Bam” and from his lauded discography. Check out a photo recap of what went down during day one of this year’s Meadows Music and Arts Festival above and stay tuned for our coverage of the rest of the festival.

For more music news, producer Timbaland recently previewed an upcoming JAY-Z and Meek Mill collaboration.
