When Sony revealed the PlayStation 5‘s DualSense controllers the internet went nearly as wild for these as it did for the actual games console, and now HYPEBEAST has gotten its hands on the soon-coming “Midnight Black” and “Cosmic Red” iterations of these controllers.

Inspired by the galaxy, the “Midnight Black” offering combines black with light gray details as a nod to how us humans view space at night, while the “Cosmic Red” version combines a sort of matte-metallic red with black as a reference to the colors of the cosmos. Speaking on the new controllers, PS5 design team member Leo Cardoso said, “Our goal is to always find designs that will surprise and entice our fans, and these new colors are the result of an extensive selection process. We wanted the new controller colors to complement each other, as well as the original DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console, so we designed the colors around the theme of ‘galaxy’ as it felt like a natural progression from the original PS5 and accessories designs.”

Both controllers feature tonal buttons and toggles, with each colorway’s buttons giving off a gelly-like aesthetic. Of course, the controllers also feature the DualSense’s top-spec technology, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. In normal controllers, players often experience a rumble or vibration coming out of the controller when action takes place in-game, but DualSense now uses haptics to replicate this more naturally.

Take a closer look at Sony PlayStation 5’s DualSense controllers in “Midnight Black” and “Cosmic Red” above. If previous colorways are anything to go by, expect the controllers to cost $69.99 USD and be available from retailers worldwide.
