Vans' Old Skool and Authentic "Bleach Pack" Offer Randomized Detailing
No two pairs have the exact same pattern.
Vans is going DIY on its new “Bleach Pack,” offering the Old Skool and Authentic with randomly bleached details. Though the California-based footwear juggernaut’s classic silhouettes are certainly not strangers to dies, patterns, prints and the like, what makes the “Bleach Pack” special is that no two pairs are the same.
Both pairs boast an upper made of ultra-light sky blue fabric, each piece of which is then randomly dunked, dipped and splashed with bleach for a touch of abstract soft yellow detail. On the Old Skool, this is regimented to the quarter panels — the toebox, eyestays, Jazz Stripe and heel all take on soft tan leathers or suedes — but on the Authentic it ranges from the toebox to the heel. Both are completed by white laces, a white midsole with a signature Vans badge on the heel and a familiar waffle-style gum rubber outsole.
The Vans Old Skool and Authentic “Bleach Pack” are both available now via Japanese retailers like BILLY’s Tokyo. The Old Skool is priced at ¥7,500 JPY (approximately $70 USD) and the Authentic arrives at ¥6,000 JPY (approximately $56 USD). Both prices are exclusive of tax.
