Apple's First Singapore Flagship Store Is All About Being Green
Aptly located on Orchard Road.
Apple continues its global expansion by opening its first retail location in Singapore. Design firm Foster + Partners, who have worked up with Apple previously on its Dubai and London outlets, conceived the latest project in the island city-state. As one of the greenest cities in the world, the new flagship incorporates elements of nature, along with energy from renewable sources. Seamlessly blending the outdoors with the indoors, lush trees and greenery rest against the building’s 46-feet tall glass facade. Appropriately situated on the busy street of Orchard Road, guests are greeted by walking through a public space dotted with verdant trees. The interior boasts hand-carved Italian stone staircases which delicately curve to adjoin the mezzanine with the main lobby. The store also includes Apple’s creative hub, The Forum, incorporating Apple’s largest video screen and space to inspire local photographers, artists and musicians.
