Austrian-born menswear designer Raimund Berthold showed his Fall/Winter 2017 collection, titled “ASYLUM,” at London Fashion Week Men’s. Exploring the “rhythm of restriction,” Berthold constructed pieces that are free from defined shapes and dimensions. This saw a line of exaggerated silhouettes, elongated sleeves, loose-fitting pants and boxy tops. Materials such as felted wool, torn leather and fluffy mohair were matched with silhouettes such as hoodies, winter coats and tunics. The ethereal but clinical hospital-inspired set posed as a harmonious backdrop to the voluminous silhouettes, which were draped in tonal polar white, heavy black and bruise.
