'Pokémon GO' Is Getting a Buddy System
Can it make a comeback?

Pokémon Go fever has definitely died down and in hopes to revive the game, Niantic Labs will be introducing a new feature in the form a buddy system. The game’s active users have shrunk by more than 10 million from its mid-July peak and adding the new upgrade might add an interesting dynamic to the game. The feature will allow you to pick out a favorite Pokémon and let you become best friends with them, which will generate in-game rewards. The Buddy Pokémon will appear next to your trainer avatar and details on whether or not it will help you catch other Pokémon are unsure. Niantic states the buddy system will go live soon and more features are in the works for the fall. With the game’s decrease in users, maybe these upgrades can help the game stay relevant.
