'In The Robot Skies' Puts Drones in the Director's Chair in Cinematic First
New trailer teases the first fiction film shot entirely using pre-programmed drones.
Making its debut next week, In The Robot Skies marks a cinematic milestone as the first fiction film to use imagery captured entirely by autonomous pre-programmed drones. With the film described as a ‘drone love story’ set in a dystopian future metropolis, director Liam Young — who worked alongside Belgium’s Embedded and Artificially intelligent Vision Lab — programmed the devices to capture footage across London’s skylines to create an atmospheric cinematic experience, whatever your take on the all-pervasive technology. It will be screening on October 8 at the London Film Festival.
