James Franco's Band Daddy Share NSFW Video for "I'm a Sword Swallower" Remix
The short film “explores gender, power play, and Hollywood lore in a cinematic psychedelic dream.”
James Franco is a creative jack-of-all-trades, and one of his most interesting side ventures is Daddy, a musical project with composer and producer Tim O’Keefe. Today, the duo have premiered a powerful Franco-directed music video for the Prince Rama remix of their track “I’m a Sword Swallower.” Awash in jarring retro filters and psychedelic effects, the haunting, overtly sexual clip captures the raw nature of the song. O’Keefe expanded on the meaning behind the visuals in a press release:
“Prince Rama’s remix creates the perfect soundtrack for our short film that explores gender, power play, and Hollywood lore in a cinematic psychedelic dream. Prince Rama and Daddy are a match made in heaven.”
Franco also weighed in on the real-life inspiration for the film:
“Everything gets wild at the Chateau Marmont. Bungalow 2, where they rehearsed Rebel Without a Cause in the ’50s, and Nicholas Ray had his affair with young Natalie Wood. Some hippies threw a party, and things got wild.”
