Vetements 2017 Spring/Summer Collection Features 18 Different Brands
The mother of all collaborations.

As anticipated, Vetements’ collaboration-heavy spring/summer collection with an astounding 18 different labels made its runway showing at the Galeries Lafayette department store on Sunday. Notable names including Carhartt, Levi’s, Canada Goose, Eastpak, Reebok, Alpha Industries, COMME des GARÇONS, Champion, Manolo Blahnik and Dr. Martens, among others, stepped outside of their comfort zone to have iconic products like bombers, heels, jeans and backpacks dissected at the hands of Vetements’ design team. Surprisingly, the overall collection included a much more cohesive theme than expected, featuring oversized and asymmetrical silhouettes borrowed from traditional ready-to-wear pieces. Continuing along its archetype of deconstructing the work of existing labels, the creative collective led by Demna Gvasalia proved to be successful in putting their own spin, giving a high fashion touch to everyday staples like hoodies and button-downs. From transforming a classic Brioni suit jacket to feminizing Carhartt’s workwear overalls, take a look at the cooperative compilation by scrolling through the gallery above.
