nonnative Puts Its Own Spin on the Converse Pro Leather
Designer Takayuki Fujii offers up a glimpse of the Fall/Winter 2016 release.

Designer Takayuki Fujii recently sat down for an interview with EYESCREAM.JP, offering up a preliminary look at what fans can expect from nonnative for Fall/Winter 2016. The highlight? The Japanese imprint’s upcoming collaboration with Converse.
Tapping the tried-and-true Pro Leather as a canvas, the co-branded drop is set to include a trio of colorways — in understated brown, black and grey hues, naturally — and couples premium suede construction with an off-white sole unit and white leather hits to the likes of the star chevron logo. As far as changes to the silhouette go, the old basketball high-top has been customized with a zippered shroud the spans the length of the eyestay — meaning you can rock the kicks with or without laces.
Stay tuned for a more in-depth look at the silhouette and expect the kicks to hit retailers this September. And if you’re looking for more collaborative nonnative goodness, you’re in luck — Fujii teased a New Balance release for Fall/Winter 2016 as well.
