Eddie Huang’s Interview With HOT 97 Reveals He’s Not a Fan of Drake
He also discusses his disappointment with the show ‘Fresh Off the Boat.’
In an interview with HOT 97’s EBRO in the Morning, restauranteur, writer, and food personality Eddie Huang reveals why he’s not a fan of Drake and how the show Fresh Off the Boat misinterprets references from his book to make the program more mainstream. One example Eddie reveals about the show is that the music mentioned in his memoir that includes OutKast and Duck Down records were changed to Beastie Boys to make it more palatable to a wider audience. While not a fan of the “Panda Express, orange chicken” version of his life being played out on TV, Eddie is however proud of the show and the positive light it brings to the Chinese-American community. As for not being an avid listener of Drake, Eddie claims that it’s sometime hard to follow the artist’s style of music. “He came out with the album, you see the visuals, like you’re looking Persian but sounding Jamaican. I’m confused,” he further explains. On the contrary, he does share his current favorite rappers, citing Future as one of his favorites and always being a true Dipset fan.
