Fat Joe Reveals Which NBA Player Biggie Was Talking About on “I Got a Story to Tell”

One of rap’s greatest emcees and storytellers, the Notorious B.I.G. had a book of classic rhymes that are still being deciphered nearly 20 years after his death. One of those classics was the story he told on “I Got A Story To Tell.” On the single, Biggie reminisced on the time he slept with the girlfriend of a New York Knicks player, and subsequently robbing the athlete at gunpoint afterward. For years, hip-hop fans assumed it was ’90s Knicks baller John Starks, based on Biggie’s description. Yesterday afternoon, Fat Joe cleared the air during a visit to ESPN’s Highly Questionable and revealed the identity of the player, putting all of the rumors to rest. “Well the guy…I could tell you but I don’t want to be disrespectful.
