Parra "Top-Up Store" @ Ben-G Skateshop, Amsterdam
Netherlands finest returns to where it all started.
Artist and avid skater Parra recently took over Amsterdam’s Ben-G Skateshop for a pop-up store. Coinciding with the Dutch artist’s own whimsical approach to illustrations, the “Top-Up Store,” as it’s named, showcase a slew of new works, sculptures and ceramic vases, alongside a mood board-type installation which features painted skate decks and vibrant prints. Parra’s namesake clothing line is also on display, with updated parkas, coach jackets, tees, and caps proudly exhibited on neatly-placed rails and shelving. The pop-up not only presents the local icon’s collaborative projects, 2016 spring/summer release, and homeware line, it also marks his return to the store that supported him from the start, before the Dutch artist made a name for himself via collaborations with Nike, G-SHOCK, Stussy, and exhibitions worldwide.
