Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt & Ethan Hawke Star in Antoine Fuqua's 'The Magnificent Seven'
A first look at the ‘Training Day’ and ‘Southpaw’ director’s western remake.
Antoine Fuqua and Denzel Washington are back at it, following up 2001’s Oscar-winning classic, Training Day, and 2014’s neo-noir reimagining of ’80s crime drama The Equalizer with The Magnificent Seven. A reinvention of MGM and Columbia Pictures’ John Sturges-directed Western (which itself was a take on Akira Kurosawa’s classic Seven Samurai), Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven stars Washington as the leader of the outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns enlisted by the town of Rose Creek to protect it from deadly industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard).
Reuniting Washington with Training Day co-star Ethan Hawke and also starring Chris Pratt, The Magnificent Seven is set to hit theaters September 23.
