A Closer Look at the ASICS GEL-Lyte III "Japanese Textile"
A premium edition with selvedge denim that pays homage to the brand’s Japanese roots.
We get a closer look at ASCIS‘ ravishing new polka dot-themed GEL-Lyte III, officially dubbed the “Japanese Textile” edition. Paying homage to the company’s longstanding Japanese roots, this iconic GEL-Lyte III model gets treated with high quality Japanese selvedge denim for that extra premium touch. The model’s striking upper has been crafted from premium Okayama denim that’s been dyed with a dark indigo wash and a straight edge weave, while the selvedge fabric, which signifies the rebirth of classic workwear styles that became so prominent in the ’40s and ’50s, is carefully stitched along the quarter panels, heel counter and collar lining. Light tan nubuck overlays boldly contrast with the dark indigo upper while leather tiger stripes and a clean white midsole round out the sneaker’s unique look.
