Major Lazer & Grandtheft Collide for "Number One"
A remix of an 80’s reggae classic.
Major Lazer and Grandtheft reconnect for another new collaborative effort from the “LAZER VAULT.” This time around, the pairing set their sights on the 1985 reggae number “Buddy Bye,” reworking the track into their own production. Originally released by Jamaican legend Johnny Osbourne, “Buddy Bye” receives a modern rejuvenation in the form of Major Lazer and Grandtheft’s new song “Number One.” Osbourne probably didn’t have festival-floors in mind when he first cooked up his classic record, but Major Lazer and Grandtheft have turned this one into something that will receive inclusion in many sets delivered in the coming warmer months. You can give “Number One” a listen below. Last week, Major Lazer delivered an impressive remix of Vince Staples and With You.’s “Ghost.”
