Mixing traditional aesthetics with classic design and heritage, Toyko brand FDMTL crosses paths with California sneaker staple Vans this spring, as previewed upon late 2015. Showcasing what FDMTL knows best, both shoes in this collaborative series utilize indigo-dyed patchwork and sashiko embroidery skills overlaid across the uppers of both the iconic Slip-On and Era silhouettes. Mirrored patterning makes these shoes clean from the get-go, but wear and tear down the line will really make these lows shine as the indigo fades and the fabric rips. According to FDMTL’s Instagram the shoes are expected to drop in Japan on March 26 at select retailers like Dover Street Market Ginza, but check your local retailer for release info and pricing.
