Snapchat Now Lets You Create Your Own Custom Geofilters
Now anyone can submit their own logo designs for your office or city.
Snapchat users around the world can now access the app’s new on-demand geofilter feature. There were previously only two types of geofilters available: the Community Geofilter, which includes city and neighborhood logos that are submitted for free (ex. users in Vancouver, Canada will have The West End, Kitsilano, Downtown, and multiple Vancouver, BC geofilters available), and Sponsored Geofilters, which big brands use for marketing purposes within a large area. Up until now the production of these have been wildly limited, and the new feature now allows anyone to pay Snapchat to distribute their own custom geofilters for a specific amount of time (minimum 30 minutes) and within a certain area (with a minimum of 5,000 square feet and maximum coverage of 5,000,000 square feet).
While we’re expecting more medium-sized businesses to hop onto the new feature, there’s sure to be some creative individuals sending in their own logos as people begin to experiment with self-branding designs. Submit your own on-demand geofilter designs today, with pricing starting at $5 USD.
